October 21st

Zac Brown Band has announced its very first career anthology – it’s called “Greatest Hits So Far.”  It includes all 11 of the group’s #1 singles plus three more hits.  It’ll be available on November 10th.
How do you celebrate a #1 single?  Extend your tour!  Jason Aldean is enjoying his 12th #1 song, “Burnin’ It Down,” by adding 23 shows to his Burn It Down Tour.
Alan Jackson has announced his 25th Anniversary Tour – Keepin’ It Country – which will kick off in Fort Myers on January 8th at the Germain Arena followed by the 9th at the USF Sun Dome in Tampa.  He’ll wrap it up in Denver on May 17th.  Jon Pardi will be opening for him and AJ says that he likes that Jon is closer to country than most of the other new guys he’s heard.
Newcomer Sam Hunt has a Top 3 song with “Leave the Night On” this week.  His debut album hits stores next Tuesday. 
Little Big Town – fresh off of their induction into the Grand Ole Opry on Friday – have their new album available today called Pain Killer.

October 20th

Poor Dustin Lynch got whacked in the face and hurt pretty badly by a beer can thrown from the crowd at the MulletFest in Niceville just as he was finishing up “Friends in Low Places.”  He says it was completely full and felt like a baseball had hit him.  Dustin STILL finished the show despite bleeding pretty good... he later went to the ER and ended up getting a couple of stitches to close the wound.
Florida Georgia Line co-wrote Jason Aldean’s 12th #1 song, “Burning’ It Down.”  They guys said it was originally going to be recorded by FGL, but they thought that Jason would do a much better job on it. 
Dierks Bentley is branching out with his Whiskey Row bar.  He’s opening one in Tempe, Arizona next year.  It offers table taps and more than 40 whiskeys behind the bar.
Eric Church blew the roof off the Garden on Friday... he made his 2nd appearance at Madison Square Garden and even had Dwight Yoakam open for him.

October 17th

Reba will make a big announcement on Tuesday.  No clue on what it is, but fans have been speculating that it’s going to be a big tour while others say it may be another grandbaby.
Thomas Rhett says that his post-race performance tomorrow night after NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series at Talladega definitely goes on the “Things I’ll tell my Grandkids” list.
Lady A and Luke Bryan will headline the 2015 C2C Country to Country Festival in Europe early next year with stops in London, Dublin, Oslo, and Stockholm.  Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Brantley Gilbert, and Kip Moore are also scheduled to perform.
Speaking of FGL... if you missed them at the O-Dome with Tyler Farr and Jason Aldean last night, you can catch them tonight on CMT Instant Jam: Florida Georgia Line at 10 on CMT.
Little Big Town will be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry tonight.

October 16th

Trisha Yearwood revealed the album cover for her new album Prizefighter: Hit After Hit with a personal message on Facebook.  The album cover features Trisha in a ball-gown and tiara, sporting a pair of boxing gloves given to her by none other than Rocky himself.  They were a gift from Sylvester Stallone and he wore them during the filming of Rocky V.
Toby Keith is back with a brand new single called “Drunk Americans.”  The song celebrates those special moments when glasses go up – or in Toby’s case, the Red Solo Cup - and the barriers that separate us all come down. 
Sara Evans is getting ready to appear on ABC’s “Nashville.”  She’ll be on the October 29th episode.
Blake Shelton will be back for Season 8 of The Voice.

October 15th

Blake Shelton says that his latest single “Neon Light” was inspired by a real bar in his hometown of Ada, Oklahoma.  He says back in the day he used to sneak into The Village Inn and that’s definitely the place he’s singing about in his mind
Thomas Rhett is pretty excited – he’s headlining this Saturday night’s infield concert at the race in Talladega.  He’s a big NASCAR fan and says a lot of his family will be there.
American Music Awards nominees are in… Luke Bryan is nominated in the all-genre Artist of the Year category.  He’s also in the Favorite Male Artist – Country category along with Jason Aldean and Blake Shelton.  The show airs live from Los Angeles on November 23rd on ABC-TV.
Speaking of Luke… he’ll be back in Florida early next year.  He’s extended his That’s My Kind of Night Tour and will be at the Amway Center in Orlando along with Randy Houser and Dustin Lynch on February 21st.


October 14th

Jason Aldean is a big supporter of Breast Cancer Awareness and Research.    He performed his 9th Annual Concert for the Cure in Detroit over the weekend and raised over $660thousand dollars to benefit Susan G. Komen and Breast Cancer Research.  We’ll be outside Gate 1 with your chance to win Meet & Greet passes to meet Jason, Florida Georgia Line, and Tyler Farr on Thursday before his show at the O’Dome!
Speaking of Florida Georgia Line… their new album, Anything Goes, is available today.  It features their latest single “Dirt.”
George Strait might not be touring, but he’s got one heck of an album planned from his final show.  He’s already released an album from that concert, but he’s got an even larger deluxe package coming out with 2 CDs full of 28 songs including 6 not on the original album... PLUS the full 40-song DVD from the June 7th show.
Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line and Kacey Musgraves have been added as performers at the CMA Awards Show on November 5th.

October 13th

Little Big Town join The Voice tonight as guest advisers for Team Blake. With four vocalists overseeing one team, the band is confident they'll give Blake’s contestants a competitive edge on the show. Other Voice advisers include Gavin Rossdale (Team Gwen), Stevie Nicks (Team Adam) and Alicia Keys (Team Pharrell). Taylor Swift will advise all teams later this season.
Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley co-wrote “Burnin’ It Down” and Jason Aldean says he’s a big FGL fan. Jason brings his tour with FGL and Tyler Farr to the O’Dome this Thursday night. We’ll be outside of Gate 1 with meet & greet passes for y’all to win.
We’re on the lookout for first wedding photos from Jerrod Niemann and wife Morgan Petek, who tied the knot this weekend in Puerto Rico. Folks from Jerrod’s inner circle have been hitting social media with pictures from the destination wedding. But so far, official details have yet to surface.

October 10th

Jerrod Niemann is getting married to his long-time girlfriend, Morgan Petek, in San Juan on Sunday.  He has requested that instead of wedding gifts a donation be made to his Free the Music Foundation at freethemusicusa-dot-org.
Lady Antebellum will be inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame tomorrow.  Comedian Jeff Foxworthy is also an inductee.
Luke Bryan is the only country artist this year with three #1 songs.  “Roller Coaster” just became the third – and Luke’s 11th career #1 song.  The others are “Drink A Beer” and “Play It Again.”
Scotty McCreery was surprised on stage in Seattle by retired Seahawks players Joe Tafoya and Norm Johnson to celebrate Scotty’s 21st birthday.  Scotty will spend his birthday weekend with family and friends in North Carolina before returning to the road next week.
CELEBRITY BIRTHDAYS: Tanya Tucker is 56.  Local Celebrity Carli Sue Post of Micanopy is 18.

Jake Owen and Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley have each added furry new members to their families.  Jake saved a puppy in Baltimore – no name yet.  And Brian and his wife, Brittany, have a new German Shepherd fur-baby named Stone who joins their other dogs, Sage and Smoke.
Zac Brown Band has been added to perform at HBO’s The Concert for Valor on Veterans Day on HBO.  Carrie Underwood will also perform.
Brantley Gilbert recently became an ordained minister just so he could marry an Alabama couple during Mobile’s BayFest.
Luke Bryan kicks off Week 2 of his Farm Tour and he’s already talking about headlining stadiums again next year.  He also says he’ll release a new album later next year, plus another Spring Break album.

October 7th

Jason Aldean releases his 6th album today – Old Boots, New Dirt.  He says the title comes from a song on the album, but also kind of sums up where Jason is now both professionally and personally.
Several of country’s top stars are part of the soundtrack of the new movie, “The Best of Me.”  It includes Lady A, Hunter Hayes, Kip Moore, Kacey Musgraves, Eric Paslay, The Eli Young Band, and Thomas Rhett – who says he read the Nicholas Sparks book that the movie was based on.  Soundtrack comes out on the 17th.
Little Big Town’s 6th studio album Pain Killer is available for pre-order now at all digital retailers.  Pain Killer, which features their current hit single “Day Drinking,” is set for release on the 21st.  When you buy it through iTunes or Amazon, you’ll receive “Day Drinking” as the instant “grat track.”
Kip Moore kicked off his headlining CMT on Tour 2014: Up in Smoke a few weeks ago with a sold-out show at New York City’s Best Buy Theatre.  Kip will hit over 20 cities through November and is joined by openers Charlie Worsham and Sam Hunt.  He says that every night after the show he and his band sit for an hour to figure out how to make the next show even better.

October 6th

Garth settled on a name for his upcoming album. Man Against Machine will be in stores on November 11th.
Carrie Underwood is enjoying her first pregnancy, but she says she’s not really sure what to get when she’s out shopping for the baby.  She said she and her husband recently went baby shopping and she said there was so much to choose from that they were overwhelmed.
Little Big Town has been invited to join the Grand Ole Opry Saturday night by Reba.  They’ll be inducted on Friday the 17th by Vince Gill.
Florida Georgia Line traded their guitars for hammers to help Habitat for Humanity between shows at Red Rocks in Colorado.  Brian and Tyler have helped the organization with fundraising in the past, but they say they really wanted to get their hands in it if they’re going to talk about it.

October 3rd

Garth says he’s not doing the writing for his upcoming album.  He’s enlisted the help of some of Nashville’s finest songwriters.  He says he doesn’t trust his pen yet – he’s kind of rusty because he’s been out of it awhile.  The new album is set for release on November 11th.
Before Kenny Chesney recorded “American Kids,” the song was offered to Lady Antebellum who said they knew it was a hit... but it was more of a Kenny hit than a Lady A hit.  They had also been offered “Better Dig Two” which The Band Perry took to the top of the chart.
Blake Shelton had a road named after him in his hometown of Ada, OK earlier this week.  Ada Mayor Bryan Morris unveiled “Blake Shelton Boulevard” in celebration of Blake’s new album Bringing Back the Sunshine.
Carrie Underwood will perform at “The Concert of Valor,”  first-of-its-kind concert to honor the courage and sacrifice of America’s veterans and their families on the National Mall in DC.  It will will be presented live on HBO on Veterans Day – November 11th.

October 2nd

Tyler Farr is big on taking pictures to document some of the cool things he gets to do in his career – whether it’s meeting star baseball players or playing big stadiums.
Congrats to Rascal Flatts’ Joe Don Rooney and his wife, Tiffany Fallon.  They welcomed their 3rd child on Monday in Nashville.  Devon Olivia joins 4 year old sister Raquel Blue and 6 year old brother Jagger Donovan.
Speaking of the Flatts boys... they have the honor of flipping the switch on the Opry’s signature barn backdrop, turning it pink for a night as artists perform in support of breast cancer awareness when the Opry joins Women Rock for the Cure on the 28th with its annual Opry Goes Pink show.  Terri Clark, Montgomery Gentry, Danielle Bradbery and Sara Evans are among the performers.
Jennifer Nettles will host A CMA Country Christmas once again – her 5th time.  It will tape in front of a live audience next month and air in December on ABC.  Performers include Brett Eldredge, Sara Evans, Hunter Hayes, Little Big Town, and Carrie Underwood.

October 1st

Dierks Bentley sure does give out some high-tech gifts to thank his tour mates.  He gave Chris Young, Jon Pardi, and Chase Rice iPad-controlled drone cameras that can fly over crowds and take pictures during shows.
Lady Antebellum popped up in Miami Monday morning and surprised a South Miami Elementary Expressive Arts Center music teacher by sneaking into her classroom  with an instrument donation for the school.  They also invited her and her husband on an all-expense paid vacation to New York City to attend Lady A’s album release show!
The Swon Brothers celebrated National Coffee Day and the 20th Anniversary of the hit TV show Friends with Eight O’Clock Coffee at the Central Perk Coffee Shop in SoHo on Monday.  They performed their hit single “Later On” along with other songs from their self-titled debut album that will be out on the 14th.
Kenny Rogers has announced his Christmas & Hits Through The Years Tour with special guest Linda Davis.  He’s got 3 Florida dates – in Fort Pierce on November 28th, Sarasota on the 29th, and St. Pete on the 30th.
