January 28th

First music... then TV... now the BIG screen?  Blake Shelton is set to STAR in the upcoming Adam Sandler film Ridiculous 6 as Wyatt Earp.  It’s a Western spoof that will be the first of four films announced in this huge deal with Netflix.
MORE performers have been added to the lineup for Rock The Ocean’s Tortuga Music Fest... the latest include The Band Perry and Josh Turner.  Headliners are Kenny Chesney and Zac Brown Band.
Garth Brooks says that one of his goals for this year is to record a duets album with his wife, Trisha Yearwood.
The Swon Brothers hit the road last weekend as part of Brad Paisley’s “Country Nation World Tour” and are really looking forward to what they’ll get out of touring with Brad.

January 27th

Carrie Underwood will be singing a slightly different version of “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” this Sunday.  Instead, it will be “Waiting All Day for a Super Bowl Fight.”
Kenny Chesney has SOLD OUT the first two shows of his “The Big Revival Tour” kickoff in Nashville on March 26th and 27th.  And they’re not the only ones – Lee Brice and Chris Young have sold out the first few shows of their tour together!
Craig Morgan’s earned himself another Golden Moose award.  He received the Outdoor Channel’s award for Best Comedy for the 5th season of his hit series Craig Morgan: All Access Outdoors.
Eric Church is enjoying the view from the top of the country charts this week as “Talladega” scores #1 on both country charts.  Eric says he knew when he recorded it that it would be a big hit because it really resonated with him.
CELEBRITY BIRTHDAYS: Local celebrity Mike Franklin of High Springs is celebrating with a LOT of candles!   Happy birthday to Tracy Lawrence, too!

January 26th

Lady Antebellum performed at their first political event last week in Austin at the Texas Inaugural Ball celebrating the inauguration of Republican Governor Greg Abbott.
Dolly Parton has signed a development deal with NBC to produce a series of television movies based on her music and life.
Lee Brice was the surprise guest at Garth’s late show in Boston Saturday night.  He joined Garth onstage at the sold-out concert for “More Than A Memory,” which Lee co-wrote for Garth’s 2007 compilation The Ultimate Hits.
The nominations for this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards will be revealed tomorrow... and reigning Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan is excited to announce them.

January 23rd

So... we talked about ALL the things Luke Bryan has going on yesterday.  And one of those things is his final Spring Break tour and album.  Luke tells us why he’ll be wrapping things up at Spinnaker Beach Club in PCB March 11th & 12th...

Blake Shelton is gearing up for his debut as host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live tomorrow night... and some of the commercials he’s recorded for it are pretty funny as he takes shots at his The Voice rival Adam Levine claiming that Adam is a punk and bragging that he’s the one hosting SNL.
Just saw a new commercial for Ram Trucks featuring Miranda Lambert and a custom “Roots and Wings” song she wrote exclusively for the campaign.  Back in November, Miranda raised nearly $66thousand dollars for her MuttNation Foundation through an online auction that was part of her growing relationship with Ram Truck.
Jason Aldean recently revealed that there’s something he’d love to own... his own bar!

January 22nd

We’re pretty excited... the nominees for the 50th Academy of Country Music Awards will be announced this Tuesday!  Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan will return to co-host the show which will take place for the first time ever at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX on April 19th.
Speaking of Luke... that big announcement yesterday on his website?  The name of his new tour and the dates, his Spring Break EP and tour – and how this is the last he’ll be doing. Kick the Dust Up Tour 2015 will kick off May 9th in North Dakota.  He’ll be staying for 2 nights of shows in 13 cities for the first time, too!  He’ll also be the first-ever country act to play Vanderbilt University’s football stadium.  Another first – he’ll be taking his tour to Europe.  He’s got Randy Houser and Dustin Lynch with him, and Florida Georgia Line and Thomas Rhett will join him during stadium shows. The Spring Break EP will be called “Spring Break... Checkin’ Out” which he’ll release March 10th, along with a deluxe Spring Break CD compilation. He’s ALSO featured in the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum May through November.  And he didn’t even get around to talking about the next Farm Tour.
Tim McGraw teams up with a family member on his new single “Diamond Rigs and Old Barstools.”  But it’s not his wife, Faith Hill.  It’s Tim’s cousin, Catherine Dunn!

January 21st

Jake Owen’s daughter, Pearl, has definitely got her roots in country music.  Jake Tweeted a picture of her yesterday on a pony with the caption, “Pearl’s first pony... my little girl likes country music and horses.”
The boys are hitting the road with their Riot Tour 2015... that would be the boys of Rascal Flatts.  They’ll kick it off May 29th in St. Louis and will continue throughout the summer with special guest Scotty McCreery.  No solid dates yet, but they have planned stops in Tampa and West Palm.
Craig Morgan isn’t happy with actor Seth Rogan’s comments about the film American Sniper.  Rogan tweeted that it reminds him of a fake Nazi propaganda film that was part of another movie.  Craig told Seth on Facebook, “You are fortunate to enjoy the privilege and freedom of working in and living in the United States, and saying whatever you want (regardless if how ignorant the statement) thanks to people like Chris Kyle who serve in the United States military.  Your statement is inaccurate and insensitive to Chris and his family.”  The actor later backtracked saying he lived the movie.
Miranda Lambert is excited about her GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Duo/Group for her duet with Carrie Underwood, “Somethin’ Bad.”  She says that it was just a great experience working with another girl and it was the right time in both of their careers. The GRAMMY Awards will air live on CBS on February 8th.

January 20th

Kip Moore loves to watch football and before Sunday's big game where Seattle moved on to the Super Bowl, Kip focused his attention to just one player – the Seattle Seahawks’ controversial running back Marshawn Lynch. Kip says that he’s a huge fan.

Garth Brooks world tour with Trisha Yearwood is proving to be good for the local economy in Tulsa, Oklahoma. During his recent string of shows there, hotels, restaurants and bars saw an upswing in business. But one industry showed the most growth -- babysitters. A spokesperson for Seeking Sitters -- a local babysitting agency – says they doubled their revenue due to the Garth Brooks concerts. Hopefully, babysitters in Boston will fare as well when he begins a four-night run this Thursday.

After kicking off their headlining "Anything Goes Tour" just last week, Florida Georgia Line has announced that they'll be extending it into the fall. The newly added dates will begin on May 9th. They’ll land in Tampa on May 29th.

Celebrity birthday wishes today go out to Brantley Gilbert turning 30 and John Michael Montgomery celebrating the BIG 5-0.

January 19th

Kenny Chesney, who just announced dates for his upcoming "The Big Revival Tour", is at the top of the country chart with his latest single "Til It's Gone." Kenny is quite proud of the song and talks about the lyrics. Kenny says: "The lyric is ‘got nowhere to go and all night to get there, and I’m goin’ there with you. Tonight we’re runnin’ on luck, and if we’re gonna use it all up, there’s only one thing left to do. I’m gonna take a deep breath and hold it in, and twirl you around,’ everybody (laughs), ‘twirl you around til my head spins, kiss that lipstick and wear it thin, til it’s gone. I mean, that’s…if you think about me talkin’ to my fans in the audience, that’s everything I wanted to say. And that defines the energy, the raw passion, that I feel like we have in our shows. And more importantly, the connection… So, that’s why I recorded ‘Til It’s Gone,’ ’cause it just reminded me so much of that connection."

Martina McBride will receive the prestigious Harry Chapin Memorial Humanitarian Award from the Music Business Association. She's being honored for her charitable endevors, including her work with the YWCA and the Kids Wish Network, and to end domestic violence. Martina will pick up the honor on May 14th at the Music Biz Awards Luncheon in Nashville.

January 16th

Florida Georgia Line have added 29 more dates to their Anything Goes Tour.  It kicked off last night in Toledo, Ohio along with Thomas Rhett and Frankie Ballard.  They’ll be in West Palm on May 28th and Tampa on the 29th.
Chris Young and Lee Brice had such a great time together last year when they opened for Brad Paisley that they decided to do a co-headlining tour for their fans this winter.  It kicks off on the 22nd in Syracuse and ends in Hawaii March 8th.  No Florida dates yet, but they still plan on adding shows.
Luke Bryan is at the top of the Top Earning Country Tours of 2014, according to Pollstar – raking in $62.8million dollars from 72 shows in 59 cities... followed by George Strait, Jason Aldean, Garth, and Zac Brown Band.
Dierks Bentley’s doing a little side work... for funzies, he’s fronting a 1990s country band dressed 90s style called “Hot Country Knights.”  He plays a date in Nashville next month.

January 15th

Garth has regained the title of Best-Selling Solo Artist in US History selling a total of 135million units – just slightly more than Elvis!!
Reba and Brooks & Dunn have added more dates to their Las Vegas residency at the Coliseum at Caesar’s Palace.  They haven’t even played the first three yet... which are sold out.  The 3 new shows are June 17th, 19th, and 20th.
Darius Rucker is hitting the road on May 14th – first stop in New Jersey – along with Brett Eldredge and Brothers Osborne.  His new album Southern Style will be available March 31st.  He’ll be coming to Tampa and West Palm – dates haven’t been announced yet.
Sending thoughts and prayers to Scotty McCreery whose grandfather passed away Sunday. Scotty took to Facebook to share the news with fans, and to remember the great man his granddad was.

January 14th

Eric Church joins the list of performers for the GRAMMY Awards show on February 8th.
Chris Young was presented with YoungArts Arison Alumni Award in Miami over the weekend.  He spoke to high school students from across the country about his own experiences as an artist and was honord at the YoungArts annual Backyard Ball.
Carrie Underwood’s new ads for Almay cosmetics have her wearing less makeup than ever.  The new campaign is being called Simply American and her beloved rat terrier, Ace, makes a cameo.
We mentioned Dierks Bentley’s annual Polar Plunge recently... he didn’t do it alone!  Kip Moore, Canaan Smith and Maddie & Tae joined him.  Maddie & Tae actually showed up with wet suits.  Dierks says he doesn’t mind that it’s wintertime... he’ll still get out on the water.

January 13th

The Academy of County Music has named the semi-finalists for the New Artist of the Year category.  They are.... Brett Eldredge, Tyler Farr, Sam Hunt, Kip Moore, Thomas Rhett, Chase Rice, Cole Swindell, and Dan + Shay.  The finalists will be determined by fan vote as well as the professional members of the ACM,  You can vote beginning on the 27th at VoteACM-dot-com.  The winner will be announced during the 50th Annual ACM awards show on April 19th.
Eric Church brought “The Outsiders World Tour” to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena Saturday night and broke an attendance record that’s been standing nearly ten years!  And we’ll have your Win ‘Em Before You Can Buy ‘Em tickets to see Eric at the Amalie Arena in Tampa on March 28th when the exclusive K COUNTRY Concert Ticket Window opens again on Thursday beginning with the Mr. Bob Morning Show.
Garth says he loves playing songs from all of his albums when he’s on stage, but his absolute favorite is “Calling Baton Rouge.”
Tim McGraw will launch his “Shotgun Rider ‘15 Tour” in June with Billy Currington and Chase Bryant along for the ride.

January 12th

RCA Records and The Recording Academy’s GRAMMY Recordings will release the 2015 GRAMMY Nominees album on the 20th.  It features Little Big Town, Miranda Lambert, and more!
Speaking of Miranda... her B&B – The Ladysmith – ranks #1 in Southern Living’s list of The South’s Best New Hotels.
There’s speculation that Jason Aldean is a married man again after his fiancée, Brittany Kerr, posted a picture on Instagram wearing a form-fitting white dress.  There were some other pictures and hints that the two had gotten married in a double ceremony with friends in the Dominican Republic.
Jake Owen is always looking for a way to connect with fans – like he did over the weekend in Dallas.  A fan hit Jake up for beers on Friday.  Jake replied saying that he was buying... and the two are pictured just moments later with Miller High Life ponies and shots raised in the air.

January 9th

Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, Chris Young, and Carrie Underwood were among the artists who paid tribute to Little Jimmy Dickens at a funeral service yesterday morning at the Grand Ole Opry House.  Brad and Vince served as pall bearers.  Carrie, who sang, "Go Rest High on That Mountain" with Vince, says Little Jimmy stole her heart the first time she met him.
The secret is out... Lady A's Charles Kelley walked the red carpet at the People's Choice Awards Wednesday night... with a hole in his pants.  Serious wardrobe malfunction there, but they still won Favorite Country Group.
Jason Aldean's Old Boots, New Dirt is back on top of the country album chart.  It rose from the #2 position back up to #1. Garth BrooksMan Against Machine - which held the top spot for several weeks - has dropped to #5.
Set the DVR - Jerrod Niemann's bride Morgan appears on "Say Yes To The Dress: Atlanta" tonight in a segment that was recorded before their wedding back in October.
CELEBRITY BIRTHDAYS: Crystal Gayle is 64.  Naomi Judd turns 69 on Sunday.

January 8th

Carrie Underwood isn’t letting her pending maternal status slow her down.  She’s currently working on a new album and is set to perform a handful of festival dates this year.  The initial residency will be 9 dates starting February 25th and going through March 14th and – if all goes well – they’ll add more.
Rascal Flatts is looking forward to their Vegas residency at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino this year.

January 7th

Blake Shelton's got a couple of things cooking in the new year.  He'll host Saturday Night Live and be the musical guest for the first time on the 24th.  It's also rumored that the powers-that-be are just waiting on a YES from him to sing the National Anthem at the SuperBowl.
Dustin Lynch says he loves his Resistol cowboy hat so much that he'd really rather his pants fall off than that hat.  He even begged the company to keep making them after they discontinued it.
Lady A will be hitting the road with Hunter Hayes and Sam Hunt for their Wheels Up 2015 Tour.  They'll kick it off across the pond next month and return to the US starting May 1st in Lubbock, TX.  No other dates announced yet, but they will stop in Tampa and West Palm.
Garth is having a great time out on the road with his wife, Trisha, playing to fans old and new.  He's booked two more show - this time in Denver at the end of March.
