September 2nd


Carrie Underwood has a couple of happy puppies…Penny and Ace are gonna be a big sister and big brother… Carrie and her husband, Mike Fisher, announced yesterday that they’re having their first baby!
 
Luke Bryan wrapped up his summer with Sunday’s sold-out show in Chicago.  He brought Cole Swindell out to perform Florida Georgia Line’s “This is How We Roll” – which he and Cole co-wrote.  He also had Lee Brice come back out to perform a song that Lee write for Eli Young Band... “Crazy Girl.”  Luke played piano and Lee played guitar and they took turns on lead vocals.  Luke brings his Farm Tour to North Central Florida on October 4th.
 
A new episode of CMT Crossroads on September 26th at 10PM... it features Lee Ann Womack and John Legend.

August 29th


DVR Alert!!!!  CMT is airing George Strait: The Cowboy Rides Away TV special tonight.  The exclusive 2-hour show was filmed at George’s final tour date in Arlington this past June and includes performances with Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, and Martina McBride.
Jason Aldean says that he may play stadiums for 2 years... maybe he’ll do it for 10.  He just wants his grandkids to look back at his pictures playing those shows and go, “My grandfather was actually pretty cool!”
The MDA Show of Strength telethon is on ABC Sunday night at 9 and features Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Sara Evans, LeAnn Rimes, and the star of ABC’s Nashville Charles Esten (Deacon).
And with Labor Day in mind... Eric Paslay says his first job was screenprinting.  He says it was pretty glamorous... he got to paint fanny packs and arrows on bowling lanes.

August 28th


Chris Young’s “Lonely Eyes” is inspired by Nashville’s renowned “Losers Bar & Grill.”  He says he’s spent his fair share of time at Losers just observing.
 
The Swon Brothers self-titled debut album comes out on October 14th.  Zach and Colton are currently sitting on a Top 15 hit with “Later On.”
 
Darius Rucker has a new album coming out, too... but not until early next year.  In the meantime, he’s released a new song from it – “Homegrown Honey.”  Darius wrote it with Lady A’s Charles Kelley, and Nathan Chapman.
 
Luke Bryan is a total sell-out... four times over!  He sold out 4 shows in 4 Ohio cities, became the FIRST country act to ever sell out the 45 year old venue and became the fist act from ANY genre to do so since New Kids on the Block performed there in 1993.

August 27th


Tim McGraw says he’s patterning his upcoming Live-Stream Music Series American Express “Unstaged” show on September 16th after Elvis’ 1968 Comeback Special... that’s the one where he’s got the black leather coat and everyone’s sitting around him
 
Hmmm... real... or ruse?  The latest in Brad Paisley’s “feud” with his record label about him leaking songs from his Moonshine in the Trunk album is that Brad has now shared what he claims is Sony/Nashville’s Gary Overton’s personal phone number and he’s encouraging fans to call and thank Gary for being so understanding about Brad’s rogue behavior.
 
The Grand Ole Opry is set to be showcased this weekend when the MDA Show of Strength Telethon airs Opry performances by Opry members Rascal Flatts and Sara Evans.  The telethon begins Sunday at 9PM on ABC.
 
Brett Eldredge is having a good time – he’s in Alaska catching HUGE fish... dancing to celebrate them... and even kissing them!  He’s there to perform at the Alaska State Fair.  Check out the fish-dancing video on our Facebook Fan Page!

August 26th


Luke Bryan, The Band Perry and Miranda Lambert are on the “Fashion Rocks” lineup.  The show airs live on Tuesday, September 9th on CBS.
 
Martina McBride is getting ready to hit the road.  She’ll hit Sarasota, Melbourne, and Niceville in mid-October.
 
Trisha Yearwood’s new single “PrizeFighter” features Reba’s daughter-in-law.... Kelly Clarkson.  Her new album of the same name will be out September 15th.
 
Florida Georgia Line is launching their own clothing line – we announced the Can’t Afford Not To line a few months back.  Now Brian Kelley and his wife, Brittney, are launching Tribe Kelley this winter.

August 25th


Brad Paisley is offering no more hints, clues, and leaked music... because his new album Moonshine in the Trunk is available in stores and online today.  He says the whole vibe is basically, “Things aren’t perfect, but it’s Friday.”  By the way – it wasn’t supposed to be released until tomorrow.  Guess Brad just couldn’t wait.
 
When things get a little crazy, Brantley Gilbert knows there’s two people he can always turn to – and that’s his mom and dad.  He’s never afraid to ask for their advice when things get too big for him.
 
Carrie Underwood is in the trailer for Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways. The music documentary premieres on October 17th on HBO.
 
Hunter Hayes is hitting the road beginning October 30th in PA for his Fall tour.  He’ll be at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena on December 5th along with Dan + Shay and The Railers.
 
CELEBRITY BIRTHDAYS: JoDee Messina is 45.  Billy Ray Cyrus is 54. 

August 22nd


Time for Tim McGraw to be a little easier on himself – now that the tour is over.  He breaks his diet every once in awhile to indulge his inner junk-food junkie with Doritos, cheese dip, tacos, and Frito pie.
The latest of Brad Paisley’s friends to help him premiere new music is Ellen DeGeneres who tweeted that she loved that Brad chose her to premiere his new song Shattered Glass – almost as much as she loves the song.  Brad’s new CD, Moonshine in the Trunk, will be out on Tuesday.
Garth Brooks will join Billy Joel and Stevie Wonder in receiving ASCAP Centennial Awards November 17th in New York.
Performers have been announced for the 8th Annual ACM Honors – amongst them are Dierks Bentley, Hunter Hayes, Jack Ingram, Kacey Musgraves, Lady A’s Hillary Scott, Lee Ann Womack.  Presenters include Kenny Chesney, Justin Moore, Thomas Rhett, the Swon Bros and more.

August 19th


George Strait is offering fans a 20-trace live album recorded at his “The Cowboy Rides Away Tour” finale at AT&T Stadium in Dallas.  It’ll be in stores on September 16th and features special guests including Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Vince Gill, and Sheryl Crow.
If you’re loving Montgomery Gentry’s new song, “Headlights” as much as we are... it’ll be available for digital download on the 2nd and their debut album with Blaster Records is set for release early next year.
Luke Bryan is hooking up with Royal Caribbean for a “Crash My Playa” cruise January 23rd-27th.  The cruise is all inclusive, the destination is Riviera Maya, Mexico.  And he’ll be joined by Florida Georgia Line, Cole Swindell, Dustin Lynch, Eric Paslay, and more.

August 18th


Kenny Chesney played to 40thousand fans on Saturday at the Flora-Bama Jama.  Fans came from as far away as Oregon to hear him play his only concert of 2014.  The show lasted more than 2 1/2 hours and was filmed for a TV special this fall.
Florida Georgia Line made a big announcement Friday while performing live in Central Park... their new album Anything Goes will be in stores on October 14th.  It’s also the name of their new clothing line. Of course, they’ll be at the O’Dome with Tyler Farr and Jason Aldean on October 16th.
Garth Brooks has become the only artist to ever sell 7 consecutive shows at Atlanta’s Phillips Arena.  The previous record was 4 shows – held by Elvis!
Brad Paisley was having some fun at NASA after his show in Tampa on Friday.  He spent Saturday at the Cape and launched his latest song from Apollo’s historic launch pad.  The new song? “American Flag on the Moon.”

August 15th


Oh!  Oh! Rumor alert!  Rumor alert!  Carrie Underwood... might be picked as the halftime show for the 2015 SuperBowl... but it’s not confirmed.

Tim McGraw’s and Faith Hill’s youngest daughter, Audrey – who is just 12 – may be the next superstar in the family.  A video has been circulating around the web of Audrey singing “Travelling Soldier.”  The performance happened before Tim’s show in Arkansas last month.
Tyler Farr stopped by the Grand Ole Opry earlier this week to perform his brand new song “A Guy Walks Into A Bar.”  He also performed “Redneck Crazy,” and gold-certified hit “Whiskey in My Water.”
Our thoughts and prayers going out to David Nail and his family.  His grandma, Opal, passed away today.  David shared the news on Twitter yesterday morning – “My heart is broken.  RIP Mimmaw.”
 

August 14th


Justin Moore... is a history buff.  He can tell you just about anything about country music and our country’s history.  His grandparents used to take him to history exhibits in Memphis every year when he was a kid.
Brothers Osbourne will release their self-titled EP on September 9th – featuring their latest single, “Rum.”  It marks the duo’s first commercial release and will give fans a taste of the band’s first full-length album expected early next year.
Daddy’s got a couple of little critics... Brad Paisley’s sons, Huck and Jasper, always check out Daddy’s new music before it’s released.  Brad says they don’t like ballads, so his upcoming album Moonshine In The Trunk is the album for them because out of 13 songs... only 3 are ballads.  It’ll be in stores August 26th.
Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, and now Blake Shelton have all taken the ALS ice bucket challenge.  Blake took the challenge along with Carson Daly from the set of The Voice.  Then, after dumping water on each other, Blake challenged Pharrell, Gwen Stefani and buddy Adam Levine – who were all there and did it right away.  Since the challenge began just a few weeks ago, it has raised more than $2million dollars for the National ALS Association.

August 13th


Brad Paisley tweeted right away that he was “devastated” about the loss of Robin Williams who died late Monday morning of apparent suicide.  Brad is one country star who actually knew Robin and worked with him on his TV show The Crazy Ones last year.  Brad says that he had to keep starting the song over because of Robin... apparently, every time Brad would start to play, Robin would start to sing... and what he chose to sing (off the top of his head, of course) was pretty racy.
 
Kenny Chesney is gearing up for this Saturday’s Flora-Bama Jama concert.  He says his latest single – “American Kids” – could be the National Anthem to No Shoes Nation.  He co-wrote the song with David Lee Murphy.
Two of the three members of Lady A are gonna have to get babysitters on New Year’s Eve for their kids... they’re set to play Nashville’s New Year’s Eve bash.
Lee Brice’s latest #1 – his fourth overall – “I Don’t Dance” – is extra-special because he wrote it as a wedding gift for his wife, Sara.

August 12th


The first stop on the Garth Brooks World Tour with Trisha Yearwood has shattered Garth’s previous record for ticket sales in a single city in North America.  The tour will begin September 4th at 7:30PM in Chicago with a total of NINE shows in that city.  Tickets for the Philips Arena in Atlanta went on sale Friday and it’s expected to sell out quickly.
Eric Church debuted the new music video for his current hit single, “Cold One,” on Friday – exclusively for members of his fan club, the Church Choir. at EricChurch-dot-com.  You can check out the video on our Facebook Fan Page AND our website.
Josh Thompson will join Field & Stream to perform at the 9th Annual Heroes of Conservation awards.  Josh will help the magazine celebrate their heroes of conservation program – which is dedicated to honoring volunteers involved in grassroots projects that protect and maintain fish and wildlife habitats across the country.
Florida Georgia Line’s Bryan Kelley and his wife Brittany are set to appear on an upcoming episode of Animal Planet’s “Treehouse Masters.”  They’ll be on the show this Friday  at 10 as host Pete Nelson and his team build the couple’s dream treehouse.

August 11th


Teen Choice Awards was last night in LA... winners include Hunter Hayes for Choice Male Country Artist, Taylor Swift for Choice Female Country Artist, Lady A for Choice Country Group, and FGL & Luke Bryan “This is How We Roll” as Choice Country Song.
Luke Bryan tweeted out a special congratulations video to South Nashville Little League baseball team over the weekend- who are headed to the Little League World Series for the 2nd year in a row.
Dustin Lynch is pretty excited... he just scored over one million likes on his Facebook Fan Page.  His new album Where It’s At will be in stores on September 9th.
Jason Aldean says it’s time to move on... he says that some of his followers have snarky things today when he posts pictures of himself with girlfriend Brittany Kerr.  He says, “You know my name, not my story.  You’ve heard what I’ve done. not what I’ve been through.  I’m happier than I have ever been, so thank you to all the people who support us.  We are happy and life goes on.  It’s time to move on, people.”

August 8th


Brad Paisley is one of the artists that is featured on the new Doobie Brothers album Southbound set to hit stores November 4th.  The track listing was released yesterday and Brad is singing “Rockin’ Down the Highway” with the group.    
 
Luke Bryan has a deluxe edition of his double-platinum album Crash My Party coming out on Tuesday to all streaming partners and iTunes.  It’s got 4 extra songs on it.
 
Lady Antebellum is set to be honored as one of the newest members of the Georgia Music Hall of Fame on October 11th in Atlanta.  Comedian Jeff Foxworthy is among the other inductees.
 
The whole Tim McGraw fan-slapping incident has been put to rest.  It was settled the old-fashioned way... without lawyers... just a simple phone call between Tim and the slapee, Jesslyn Taylor.

August 7th


DVR Alert: Luke Bryan will make a guest appearance on the ABC hit Nashville.  His part tapes tomorrow morning during his performance in Central Park during Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series. The Nashville episode will air October 1st.
 
Carrie Underwood doesn’t go anywhere without her dogs Ace and Penny.  They spend time with her on the tour bus, and when Mommy stays at a hotel, so do her babies – no matter the cost.
 
When Dierks Bentley isn’t piloting his own plane, he’s playing with them.  Lately he’s been playing with an RC plane he calls “The Drone Slayer.”
 
Darius Rucker is tapping into the craft beer business.  He’s launching Hootie’s Homegrown Ale which will make its debut this weekend when he plays a few shows this weekend with his old band, Hootie & The Blowfish, in Charleston.
 
CELEBRITY BIRTHDAYS: Rodney Crowell is 64.  BJ Thomas is 72.  The Mavericks’ Raul Malo is 49.

August 6th


No surprise... Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will be back on November 5th to host the CMA Awards together for the 7th consecutive year.
 
Miranda Lambert’s dad is NOT happy.  The ex-cop says some “ignorant fool” defaced a welcome sign to Linville, TX featuring Miranda’s picture.  The company that created the sign is going to try and fix it.  If not, they’ll create a new one.
 
The Band Perry has teamed up with State Farm and their Celebrate My Drive program to encourage safe teen driving.  As part of the program, teens who commit safe driving have the change to bring the group to their high school for a private concert during the 2014-15 school year.
 
Frankie Ballard is getting ready for his first headlining tour! The Light ‘Em Up tour kicks off October 16th in Minneapolis and makes 19 stops through cities across the country – including a November 29th show at the House of Blues in Orlando.

August 5th


Jason Aldean has been recognized as the Top Male Country Artist in the history of RIAA’s Digital Gold & Platinum Awards – the music industry’s premier program for celebrating artistic achievement in the marketplace.    Good thing he’s doing so well in country music because Jason says there was never a Plan B for him.
 
Since Faith Hill can’t be on the road with hubby Tim McGraw during his current Sundown Heaven Town Tour... he brings opening act Cassadee Pope in stage to perform “Meanwhile Back at Mama’s” with him every night.
 
Little Big Town hosts the ABC-TV special CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” tonight. The 3-hour show features Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Keith Urban and more.
 
Billy Currington is celebrating his 9th #1 song this week with  “We Are Tonight.”  And he says one of his biggest musical influences is Kenny Rogers.

August 4th


Kenny Chesney has teamed up with director Shaun Silva again to co-produce a football documentary.  This time, the documentary focuses on legendary football coach Steve Spurrier and is called The Believer.  It will air on ESPN the 27th as part of the SEC Networks SEC Stories series.
Dierks Bentley will headline the post-race concert at Bristol Motor Speedway on the 20th.  His performance will be filmed as part of the Mountain Dew CMT Summer Concert Series which will be featured on the CMT Hot 20 Countdown on September 6th.
Scotty McCreery recently visited with a group of ACM Lifting Lives Series participants from the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center.  The group started the day with a performance at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and then hopped on Scotty’s tour bus for a ride.
Blake Shelton’s new album will be out on September 30th.  It’s his 11th studio album and will be called Bringing Back the Sunshine.

 

August 1st


Jason Aldean’s just-released lead single “Burnin’ It Down” exploded into the top-selling spot in the country tallying 183,672 total digital sales.  With a total of 135 radio stations onboard nationwide, the lead single from his upcoming 6th studio album for Broken Bow Records also received the most 1st-week radio adds of any single in Jason’s career.  And those tickets to Jason’s October 16th show at the O-Dome go on sale this morning at 10!
 
Miranda Lambert and her tour sponsor Crystal Light are having some fun this summer and have created a “Playable Poster” which is on display at her “Platinum Tour” stops all over the country. You can touch the poster and it will “spin” her Platinum album, unlocking songs from the record.
 
And speaking of Miranda.. she’ll be making her big screen debut soon.  She’s collaborating on the script for the upcoming comedy “Something in the Water.”  The movie features a female-led cast with Miranda playing the role as one of five women who challenge their men in a bass fishing competition.
 
Trace Adkins is back with a vengeance.  He kicked off his summer tour in New Jersey on June 5th.  It’ll run 30 more dates before wrapping up with some state fair and cruise ship appearances in October and November.  Trace will also perform a series of Christmas shows in November and December – including December 21st at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater.

Garth Brooks has announced another show – in addition to the extra 9 in Chicago. He’ll play Philips Arena in Atlanta on September 19th.
 
The ACM has announced a few of the recipients for the 8th annual ACM Honors awards show.  Dean Dillon, Toby Keith, Kris Kristofferson, Ronnie Milsap, Carrie Underwood and Rascal Flatts will be some of the honorees on September 8th.
 
Miranda Lambert and The Band Perry will perform on CBS’s “Fashion Rocks” show on September 9th.
 
Joe Nichols was once a late-night radio DJ – like Rachel.  But... he got fired.  He worked for a country station while he when he was a junior in high school.  He had a bad habit of just playing he songs he liked.

July 30th


Brad Paisley recently got in trouble with his label – Sony Music Nashville.  Brad went rogue and posted some clips of songs on his upcoming album album “Moonshine In The Trunk” on Twitter and YouTube.  He’s been getting emailed by his label for the past 3 days and every time he posts a clip, the label takes it down.  Finally, Brad said that he would not post any more clips... instead, he had rapper Ludacris do it for him.
 
Toby Keith has landed at #1 on Forbes’ 2014 Country Cash Kings list for a 2nd straight year – earning an estimated $65million bucks.  Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean, and Luke Bryan round out the Top 5 on the list.
 
Jason Aldean says he’s down with another duet.  He’s already teamed up with Kelly Clarkson, Luke Bryan, Eric Church... even Ludacris.  He says he’s talked to Florida Georgia Line and they’re all keeping their ears open for something to do together.
 
We announced yesterday that Luke Bryan is bringing his Farm Tour to Whitehurst Cattle Ranch in the Gainesville area on October 4th.  Luke’s farm tours help out kids with ag-related scholarships... 

July 17th


Kenny Chesney is doing a FREE show on August 16th at the Flora-Bama – located where Orange Beach and Gulf Shores meet Perdido Key on the Alabama/Florida border.  Details on the show are available on Kenny’s website - it's currently waiting list only as the wristbands ran out moments after they became available.
Florida Georgia Line made history with “Dirt.”  It earned the highest one-week add total in Country Aircheck history with 130 stations in the US playing the song in its first week – breaking Taylor Swift’s record.  They’ll be with Tyler Farr and Jason Aldean at the O’Dome on October 16th.  Tickets go on sale Friday, August 1st at 10AM.
Kellie Pickler will be using her voice for something other than singing.  She’ll voice a character for one of two brand-new “Veggie Tales” movies.  She’ll voice Mirabelle in “Beauty and the Beet” on October 14th.
ABC’s Nashville will kick off its 3rd season on September 24th at 10PM.  Filming is set to begin shortly.  No word yet if the writers will write Hayden Panettiere’s – she’s Juliet – reported pregnancy into the show.
