Annual EEO Public File Report for Ocala Broadcasting Corp., LLC.

 

 

  • During the period of October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017 Ocala Broadcasting Corporation, LLC. (WOGK, WNDD,WNDT, WNDN) filled 4 full time job vacancies:

Three sales and marketing consultants and one non traditional

revenue director position.

 

  • Ocala Broadcasting Corp., LLC used the following sources

to fill the non traditional revenue director position: the EEO recruitment sources mailing list, postings to our sister stations, our stations websites and local contacts.

 

For the open sales and marketing consultant positions:

postings to our sister stations, our stations’ websites and the EEO recruitment sources mailing list, Indeed.com, Mediarecruiter.com, Allaccess.com and local referrals.

 

 

  • The non traditional revenue director position was created

through an employee resignation. The sales and marketing

consultant openings were created by one termination and

and two resignations.

 

 

  • After a review of resumes on file for our sales positions one candidate was interviewed for the non traditional revenue director. The candidate was a referral from an outside source. The hire was made in March 2017.

 

Regarding the three sales and marketing consultants:

After a review of resumes from our sources the May 18, 2017

hire was from Indeed.com, the May 22, 2017 hire was also

from Indeed.com and the July 3, 2017 hire was from an

outside referral.

EEO Narrative

 

Ocala Broadcasting Corp., LLC. has been working to achieve a broad

and inclusive outreach program to educate and recruit persons for

future openings for WOGK-FM, WNDD-FM, WNDT-FM and WNDN-FM.  This report covers the period of October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017.

 

During this time Ocala Broadcasting Corp., LLC. has done the following:

 

We hosted two Job Fairs to recruit for ourselves and other local

diverse businesses. On January 26, 2017 in Ocala at the auditorium

at the Livestock Pavilion and on September 27, 2017 at Career Source in Gainesville. In Ocala, over 200 people attended and in Gainesville, there were over 150 attendees.

 

 

 

On May 8, 2017, a group of 20 boy scouts and on May 15, 2017 three

groups of home school students came to our stations for a

tour. They were shown the studios for both stations and air

personalities Charlie McCraw and Big Red explained the process of

broadcasting and the use of computers. In addition, they were shown

the process of producing commercials. They toured the sales area

and learned the process of selling advertising and the internal

workings to get the commercials on the radio. The tours ended with

questions about what requirements there are for a career in radio.

 

 

Ocala Broadcasting Corp. LLC (WOGK, WNDD, WNDT, WNDN)

maintains an ongoing program to recruit and instruct potential future broadcasters.

 

From May until July 2017 Savannah Phillips, a student at

Florida Gulf Coast University, served a for-credit internship of

135 hours. She shadowed all of the department heads, attended promotion meetings and meetings with our visiting sales/non traditional revenue consultant. She also participated in on site

marketing events outside the radio stations.

 

Starting in March 2017 and continuing West Port High School

student Reagan Knight is interning and learning all aspects of

the radio business.

 

On July 29, 2017 we posted on our websites and through social

media an opening for future internship opportunities.

 

 

The stations offered online training to all its sales staff on

February 13, 2017, June 15, 2017 and August 24, 2017.

 

The stations’ General Manager attended two school Career Days.

March 10, 2017 at Hammett Bowen Jr. elementary school and on

May 16, 2017 at Osceola Middle School. With multiple groups

at both events he spoke to over 100 students about future careers

in radio/broadcasting/media
